smart causal

the dress code in my company is 'smart causal'. i saw my colleagues wore jeans and converse. i asked excitedly her" do we available to wear jeans and converse?" she replied" yes." i was so surprised with it. i thought i got the limit of its 'smart causal' dress code~~
one week later, i wore my adidas and a causal dress to work. (as i had dancing class) no one say anything about my outfit!! YES!!!!!!! I finally entered a company which allowed to wear real 'smart causal' outfit!!
today, I wore my jeans and a little-high heel shoes. I did appreciate my 'smart causal' look!! After a quiet morning, one of the manager came and ask to wear as 'smart causal' next time.
i'm really confused about the standard of 'smart causal' here..
